Why do skin types vary?
Most of us are very much concerned with our skin types or complexion particularly women. We tried everything just to protect our skin and maintain its smoothness and color. Scientifically, the color of a person's skin depends upon the amount of melanin it contains. Melanin is a brown substance present in everyone's skin. Ultra-violet rays in sunlight cause the skin to produce more melanin and this is why people in hot climates have a darker skin than those who live in cooler areas of the world. The purpose of the melanin, which is deposited on the outer layers of the skin, is to protect the skin from the sun.
