Pineapple is one of my favorite fruit. Why? Because I get Vitamin C and it has few calories, it’s sweet and delicious. Before, these were the only few benefits I knew from Pineapple. Now I learned that it can heal sore throats, digestive problems, blood clots and bruises and also it has as anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
The benefits are due to a natural enzyme called bromelain, which can break down many times its own weight of protein in just a few minutes. Happily, it only attacks dead and damaged tissue so it doesn’t interfere with the lining of the stomach and digestive tract. Bromelain has also been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory, making it an exceptionally good fruit for anyone with arthritis, both osteo and rheumatoid.
Only fresh fruit and the juice contain beneficial bromelain. Therefore, pineapple should always be a regular on your shopping list.

Hmmn.. so it's also good for arthritis?! I don't usually buy pineapples but I'll try to have it always included in my list like the banana.
